Via Baltica
Jurgis Kuncinas (1947–2002) was a poet, prose writer, essayist, and translator. He studied German philology at Vilnius University. His books have been translated into German, Swedish, Estonian, Polish, and Latvian.
In the novel "Mobile X-ray Units," Kuncinas' best creative traits are showcased: a free approach to form and compositional discipline, lyricism and psychological depth, inventiveness, and a certain naivety.
The novel, set in 1968, contains numerous life details and serves as a biography not only of the author but also of the entire post-war "lost" generation.
