The discussion about blockade literature is essential, if only to testify that even during the blockade's hardship, there was a vast, multifaceted, and multi-genre literary effort to describe, comprehend, and reflect on the blockade experience.

By revisiting this work today, we address the task of creating a language that allows those who did not live through the blockade to speak about it, while still taking responsibility for it and ensuring it is not forgotten. In studying the work of blockade poets, we see that they sought a language that could both soothe the pain of history's victims and capture history itself, striving to reconcile these somewhat distant objectives.
