This edition features poems by those who can be considered living classics, and those whose texts will be a revelation for some readers. These include Maria Stepanova, Dmitry Vedenyapin, Anna Arkatova, Gleb Shulpyakov, Naum Blik, Vadik Korolev, Valentina Fekhner, and Dmitry Makarov. All the texts in this collection were written in the last three years.

This book renews the "Selected Poetry" poetry series, published in Paris by YMCA-Press in the 1980s. Back then, poetry collections in the format of "approximately 100 poems plus a foreword by the editor" offered readers the opportunity to quickly, but thoroughly, become acquainted with the legacy of classics such as Georgy Ivanov, Nikolai Gumilyov, and Osip Mandelstam. This is the fundamental difference between that series and the new book. From 2026, Selected Poetry will feature works by living poets.
