"In March 2022, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops began, I traveled the route Israel-Tbilisi-Yerevan-Istanbul-Israel in the hopes of compiling some notes about 'Exodus 22'—that is, about how people were leaving Russia during those weeks. This experience was incredibly important for me, and I am immensely grateful to everyone who met me, spoke with me, and helped me work on these notes. It remains to be added that (of course) all the N.s here are different people, and that the order of the notes within a single location is roughly chronological."
