Silva Rerum — Latin for “forest of things”, popular in the 16th–18th centuries among the Lithuanian and Belarusian nobility, a genre, a “family book”, passed down from generation to generation, where important life events were recorded.

The cycle of historical novels “Silva rerum” by Doctor of Arts Kristina Sabaleuskaitė is one of the most significant events in Lithuanian literature of recent decades, which has received attention and recognition in Lithuania and abroad. In Latvia, the novels “Silva rerum” were selected to the list of 100 most beloved books of Latvians of all time. After publication in Poland, the first novel of the cycle became a bestseller, and in 2016 it reached the final of the prestigious Central European literary award “Angelus”. Lithuanian readers, choosing one hundred books of the century in 2018, awarded “Silva rerum” third place.
