"Tuvla" is one of the most striking works of Lithuanian literature of the 20th century, which tells of fatal love, Vilnius, Zarechnoye and bohemian life of the late Soviet era. The poetic narrative jumps in space and time and resembles a conversation with a beloved. The hero, oppressed by sadness, meets many strange characters on the streets of Vilnius, drinks, and seeks shelter. The descriptions of the urban space are imbued with love, sadness, and despair. The hero of the book wanders in search of something that cannot come true. Love in the novel is eternal, it does not end even after death.
