Gardens and Roads
Сады и дороги
The diary entries from 1939–1940, compiled by their author—German writer and philosopher Ernst Jünger (1895–1998)—into the book "Gardens and Roads," mark the beginning of a sextet of his diaries from the Second World War, collectively known as "Radiations" ("Strahlungen").
The French translation of "Gardens and Roads," published in 1942, the same year as the German edition, significantly contributed to Jünger's European fame as one of the outstanding stylists of the 20th century.
