Elya and Jonathan, ordinary Israeli schoolchildren, find themselves in a mirror, in a civilization parallel to our universe, the Babylonian Empire, where magic and scientific technology reign harmoniously. The teenagers must rescue their father from the clutches of criminal travelers between universes and their pharmacological brood, and pull their mother out of the bottomless abyss of mental illness. In Babylonia, the heroes are ambushed by crocodile dragons, crazed servants of dark cults, dangerous rebels, and daring smugglers, and the heroes themselves will experience betrayal, disappointment, friendship, and love. The universe created by the author is largely based on the mythology and cultural codes of the civilizations of the Ancient East: Sumerian, Akkadian-Babylonian, and Canaanite.
