German Lukomnikov is a poet, prose writer, performer, translator, author and performer of poems and songs, actor, publisher, and compiler of anthologies. He was born in 1962 in Baku, in the family of the poet and outsider artist Gennady Ilyich Lukomnikov. Since 1975 he has lived in Moscow. Since 1990 he has devoted himself entirely to literature. Until 1994 he performed under the pseudonym Bonifatsiy. He is the author of 19 books of poetry (now 20), the first of which was published in 1993. Published in the newspapers "Gumanitarny Fond" and "Tsirk "Olimp", magazines "Znamya", "Novoye Literatornoe Obozreniye", "Volga", "Solo", "Vozdukh", almanacs "Figli-migli" and "Vremya Rozhat'", anthologies "Zevgma" and "Samizdat Veka", textbook "Poetry" and many other publications. Was a member of the literary club "Avtornik" and the Association of Masters of Arts "Osudashevshie Madmeny". Winner of the Big Poetry Slam of Moscow (2006), Russian-Ukrainian Slam in Lvov (2007) and All-Russian Slam in Voronezh (2014), vice-champion of the World Slam in Paris (Coupe du Monde de Slam Poésie, 2015). In 2019–2022, he played the Holy Fool in D. Krymov’s play based on Pushkin’s Boris Godunov. He is one of the compilers of the Anthology of Russian Palindrome, Combinatorial and Handwritten Poetry (2002) and the anthology Russian Poems of the 1950s–2000s (2010; the online version is still being updated). He is a laureate of the Korney Chukovsky Prize for innovation in children’s literature (2015) and the Andrei Bely Prize for services to literature (2024). He is a master of poetic minimalism, palindrome and combinatorial poetry. His poems have been translated into 14 languages.
