The novel is based on the materials of the investigation file of Pyotr Ilyich Nesterenko, director of the Moscow crematorium on the territory of the Donskoy necropolis. While working on the novel, Sasha Filipenko repeated the path of the main character, following him to Saratov and Paris, Istanbul and Warsaw. The Memorial Society provided the author with a huge amount of archival documents. "Kremulator" is an artistic reconstruction of an absolutely amazing fate.
