Boris Borisovich Bozhnev (1898–1969) is one of the most original poets of the Russian diaspora, a representative of the younger generation of the first wave of emigration, the ideological heir of the French “damned poets” and Russian philosophical lyricists. Bozhnev was also interested in music and drawing, and was involved in samizdat. He made friends with French avant-garde artists and Russian emigrant socialists.
This edition includes selected works from the period of the author’s poetic heyday - works written in the 1920s in Paris. Bozhnev and his lyrical hero, immersed in the tense social atmosphere of our time, are infected with the fever of city bustle. Experiencing a crisis of consciousness, they fully experience the polyphonic essence of perception of the world.
