This book tells the story of how a small group of professional assassins emerged in Donbas, tasked with "cleansing" the region of field commanders undesirable to the Kremlin. Over time, these mercenaries transformed into a parallel army that eventually staged a rebellion.

The authors of the book are journalists Ilya Barabanov, one of the first to discover the existence of the private military company, and Denis Korotkov, who revealed its connection to "Putin's chef," Yevgeny Prigozhin.
