The reckless use of scorched earth tactics, the deliberate provocation of reprisals by the occupiers against civilians, the destruction of their own villages, the chaotic collection of "food taxes" from the population, supplemented by daily robbery, drunkenness, debauchery and violence, fratricidal internal conflicts, the use of doping, the operational use of weapons of mass destruction and, finally, cannibalism - all this was not an accidental consequence of mass bloodshed and was not a spontaneous "popular response" to the cruelty of Nazi rule, but became natural manifestations of Stalin's war of extermination.
