In the final months of the Spanish Civil War, Republican troops retreat to the French border. Among the prisoners sentenced to death is Rafael Sánchez Masas, the founder and ideologist of the Falange and one of the perpetrators of this fratricidal conflict. Sánchez Masas narrowly escapes death: an unnamed Republican decides to spare him.
