Shimmering Worlds of Alexander Vvedensky
Мерцающие миры Александра Введенского
The book, dedicated to the work of Alexander Vvedensky (1904-1941), includes works from different years, which came together to form a monograph about the Russian poet - a radical experimenter, a member of the Association of Real Art (OBERIU), a prolific children's writer, in whose "adult" works, unpublished during his lifetime, the everyday language and everyday consciousness were undermined. The book is made up of 15 chapters, touching on a number of deeply concerning issues of the poet, which have been preserved in his surviving texts (it is believed that only a quarter of what Vvedensky wrote has reached us). These chapters examine the poetic and philosophical aspects of his work: illogicality, absurdity, misunderstanding, event, eros, time, non-existence. These main themes and aspects are united into thematic blocks corresponding to Vvedensky's creative interests: "The Birth of the World", "Misunderstanding of the World", "The Death of the World". The first part explores the possibilities of world creation by a new linguistic logic; the second part presents Vvedensky's world as a great misunderstanding, prompting unanswered questions; the third part focuses on the heroes' farewell to the world and the world's farewell to the heroes. As a visual tuning fork, rhyming with the poet's eschatological reflections, the half-titles to the book's chapters feature 15 engravings by Albrecht Dürer from the Apocalypse series.
