The Key. The Last Moscow. The Pilgrim, or the Ascent to the Mount of Olives.
Ключ. Последняя Москва. Пилигрим, или Восхождение на Масличную гору
The book "The Key. The Last Moscow" (winner of the Russian Booker Prize in 2014) and the autobiographical novella "Pilgrim" are archival prose, in which the author's personal life is closely intertwined with the events of a century ago. The central characters—Marina Tsvetaeva and Boris Pasternak, Vladimir Lugovskoy and Daniil Andreyev—give way to the generally unknown Varvara Malakhieva-Mirovich, poet and author of a unique diary; Olga Bessarabova and her brother Boris, the prototype for Tsvetaeva's "Yegorushka"; the writer Maria Belkina; and the Lugovskoy and Dobrov families. All of them emerge from the Atlantis of diaries and letters in the archival novel, bringing with them the old Moscow that remains only on maps and in memories.
The book is in Russian.
