French writer Marcel Proust (1871–1922) created his major work, the novel series "In Search of Lost Time," over the course of fourteen years, right up until the end of his life.

In this monumental work, which has been called a symphony novel, a cathedral novel, and a river novel, the author succeeded in combining the grandeur of its structure with a uniquely subtle worldview, presenting a fundamentally new type of artistic reflection that became one of the most significant discoveries in 20th-century art.

This edition of "In Search of Lost Time" is published in the classic translation by M.N. Lyubimov, while the final, seventh volume is translated by A.N. Smirnova. The structure of the work allows for multiple reading methods: each book simultaneously represents a link in the chain of the overall narrative and an autonomous work.
