For the first time, the stories "The Dead Don't Hurt" and "Liquidations" were published without censorship cuts after the author's death - in 2014. It was expected that from now on, Bykov's works would be published exclusively under such unyielding editorial censorship. However, these hopes turned out to be in vain - Bykov was still printed and is being printed with corrections and cuts. And this book, which was published in Bialystok in January, is only the second uncensored edition. It is not a very common case for Belarusian literature - for a work, even after decades, to be published without any censorship interference. And it is still unique in the fate of the author of "The Dead Don't Hurt" and "Liquidations".
