Three apovests of Vasya Kurolesov
Три повести о Васе Куролесове
Yuri Koval (1938-1995) wrote the "detective" stories about Vasya Kurolesov for about twenty years - "The Adventures of Vasya Kurolesov" was published in 1971, and the last of the books in the series, "The Misstep of Citizen Loshakov", in 1989. We put the word "detective" in quotation marks: although the plot here is really sharp and the author (as you will learn from the comments behind the text) used the experience of his father, who served for many years in the criminal investigation department, the trilogy about Kurolesov is, first of all, a monument of Russian literature of the 20th century and a brilliant description of Moscow and Moscow region life in the 1960-1980s. The realities of the life of the book's heroes are not very clear to a modern teenager, so the book was commented on by famous scientists, two professors of Russian philology - Oleg Lekmanov (HSE, author of biographies of Osip Mandelstam, Sergei Yesenin, numerous studies on the history of Russian literature) and Roman Leibov from the University of Tartu (Estonia).
