I can fall

Я умею падать

Liza is seventeen, lives in the City with her mom, dad, and two younger brothers, goes to school, plays "What? Where? When?"—basically, she's a pretty ordinary girl. She's also a flying ship, her brothers are a volcano and an alchemist, and her best friend is a violinist, though she plays the cello. The characters in the novel "I Can Fall" live in an alternate world where everyone has their own unique personality type. But this world, alas, is in many ways similar to ours. So similar that, just like ours, in February 2022, a neighboring country (similar to Russia) invades Ukraine and turns on the War Machine. And just like ours, other people—volunteers—are primarily responsible for rescuing those in distress.

Some characters and locations from this novel can be found in the book "Broken Time," also written by Natalia Krupenina. Another of her books, "How to Make a Number Pie," is a captivating children's nonfiction about information and data. Krupenina is a linguist by training and an editor and analyst by profession. This fantastic book is based on real personal experience: Natalia lives in Riga and, in 2022, she and other volunteers helped refugees flee Ukraine.
