"I wrote this book over the course of three and a half months. I started working on it in November 2020, shortly after I moved to Vilnius due to political persecution. The book talks about how and why the awakening of Belarusian society began, as well as why women became its face.

In the first chapter, I consider various forms of women's activism and solidarity in Belarus - from the emergence of the hashtag #evolution through women's marches to sisterhood in prisons. The second is dedicated to Belarusian society as the main driving force of the Belarusian revolution-in-progress, as well as an analysis of the social and political conditions that caused it. In addition, I reflect here on what was and was not achieved in 2020.

In the third chapter, I attempt to conceptualize the awakening of Belarusian society and justify why I use the concept of revolution-in-progress and characterize it as inclusive and post-national."

The book was first published in German by Suhrkamp in June 2021 and became a bestseller for the publishing house, entering the top three best books of July-August 2021 in Germany, according to 30 critics of the German public television channel ZDF, the newspaper Die Zeit and the German public cultural and educational radio station Deutschlandfunk Kultur, as it deepens understanding of social issues and helps to better understand public debates. It was also noted that the book shows that "the struggle of Belarusian women matters for women all over the world."

In December 2021, the book was published in Vilnius in Russian and in 2022 it became a laureate of the Ales Adamovich Prize of the Belarusian PEN Center.
