The book, described by the author as a novel, is a montage of short stories (some featuring recurring characters) and poem cycles reflecting the existential impasse of life under a thanatocratic dictatorship and the emotional turmoil of the groundless lives of young émigrés.

Since 2014, Ilya Danishevsky has led the publishing project "Anhedonia," dedicated to the phenomenon of violence in contemporary Russia. He has published books by Elena Kostyuchenko, Slavoj Žižek, Petr Pavlensky, Alexey Tsvetkov Jr., Maria Stepanova, Gleb Morev, and others. From 2019 to 2021, he oversaw the literary program at the Voznesensky Center in Moscow and was the editor of the poetry publishing project "Centrifuge." Since 2016, he has published poetry and prose in the magazines Zerkalo, Vozdukh, Volga, and others. Shortlisted for the Andrei Bely Prize and the Arkady Dragomoshchenko Prize (both 2017).
