The collection "Promise" brings together poems from 1988 to 2024. "All of them," as the author states in the preface, "with the possible exception of two or three intended to break a certain thematic monotony, are directly related to the title of the collection."
Dmitry Vedenyapin was born in Moscow. He is a poet, essayist, and translator of poetry and prose. Author of twelve books of poetry: Pokrov, 1993, Grass and Smoke, 2002, Between the Closet and the Sky, 2009, What Does the Ray Mean, 2010, The Glass Laughs, the Cigarette Cries, 2015, Home Performances, 2015, The Faith of a Mushroom, 2017, The Birdie, 2018, Dad Talks on the Phone, 2020, What Paris - Take It Higher, 2020, For Nothing, 2022, There Is Intrigue, 2023. Laureate of several literary awards, including the Moscow Account Grand Prize (2009), the Joseph Brodsky Foundation Scholarship Prize (2011), and the Poetry Prize (2019). He hosts the online meeting series "The Human Being in Other People" at the Boris Pasternak House Museum in Peredelkino. He has lived in Paris for the past five years.
