Goodbye, oil
Прощай, нефть
Oil, as we know, is a non-renewable resource. But where does it come from? How is it produced? And what happens when it runs out? In this book, the author addresses all these questions and suggests changing our habits so that one day we don't all have to say goodbye to oil.
"Goodbye Oil" was originally a project prepared specifically for the exhibition "1973: Sorry, Out of Gas," dedicated to the 1973 oil crisis in Montreal. It ran from November 7, 2007, to April 20, 2008, at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and explored how architecture and society responded to the scarcity of a fossil resource like oil. Over 350 artifacts, architectural models, and historical photographs were on display, and British artist and illustrator Harriet Russell created a graphic exploration of oil's place in modern society, which was later developed into a separate book for children and adults.
