The poetic collection of Andriy Bondar, a poet, translator and publicist, author of the books “Primitive Forms of Ownership” (2004) and “Carrot Ice” (2012), is characterized by typical features of a creative crisis, which, however, fits into the broader picture of the existence of the individual – a midlife crisis. The inability to write in the old manner pushed the author to the idea that everything can become poetry. Therefore, the book is marked by the maximum degree of mosaicism of artistic thinking, absurdism, primitivism and multi-genre. The classic quatrain, verlibre, aphorism, Japanese hokku and Russian chastushu are just the tip of the genre iceberg. The main theme of the book was the secrets of the Ukrainian collective soul and its struggle against Russian imperialism.
