Glass child
Шкляное дзіця
At home, Maarja Kangro's documentary novel "The Glass Child" has been called one of the most difficult, but also one of the best Estonian books. There is no boundary between private and public in the work. Several foreign countries, political crises, literary fairs of hubris are the backdrop against which the heroine descends into her own hell and provides an accurate cartography of it, without hiding details, names, or taking her eyes off the catastrophe. This book speaks to the reader clearly, openly, and detached from her own emotions, but there is no certainty about what will happen to the reader's emotions.
