This book is a unique, popular science photo album-catalog dedicated to the ethnographic expedition, which in 1928 was led by the outstanding Belarusian public figure and scientist Vatslav Lastovsky.

The expedition took place in the territories of Sluchchyna and Mozyr regions and aimed to record and preserve images of traditional Belarusian culture before it was changed by political processes.

The album includes about 300 unique photographs that document folk costumes, samples of ancient weaving, rural architecture and objects of peasant life, and sacred art.

These materials have enormous historical value, as they were taken just before the wave of repressions and changes of the 1930s. The album miraculously survived and was published on the basis of the funds of the Belarusian Library and the Frantsishk Skaryna Museum in London. The book is a true treasure trove for researchers and anyone interested in the heritage of Belarus.
