"Springfield" is a story about two guys who are in love with each other, living in the industrial, depressed city of Tolyatti.

"Springfield" can under no circumstances be published in modern Russia, and not only because of the "wrong" orientation of the main character.

I found this novel via a link on Facebook. With the words "this is stronger than "Edichka"" I sent it to my friends. Writers are offended by comparisons with others, so I will say this: this is a novel of a generation. A generation of thirty-year-olds, crushed by Russian reality, destroying everything alive and unlike the mainstream. It is a must read.
