This book of artistic and journalistic writings by K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian avant-garde and the creator of a system of perceiving nature—the "science of seeing"—incorporating a completely original method of transforming space when rendering it on a plane (spherical perspective) and a unique color palette, includes texts dedicated to the stages of the artist's development and describing the characteristics of his artistic method.
