“Roots / Leaves” is the result of the work of a feminist writing laboratory organized by the “Stretching” archive and the “Figures” literary zine for Belarusian writers and poets.

The literary texts in this collection work with the themes of language, critical understanding of family narratives, and the influence of empires on historical memory, creating together a three-dimensional picture of different genre, aesthetic, emotional, and worldview systems. Providing space for the multi-voiced author:s, this book will contribute to the discussion about the past, present, and future of a free Belarus.
