It is a classic novel of postclassical Belarusian literature, in which local reality is viewed through the magical crystal of dreams and reveries.

The third, expanded and expanded version of the novel includes two new stories ("Autumn in Grodno" and "Dzyury"), as well as "Post-Publisher's Speech", which upon closer examination turns out to be notes of an unknown reader, found by the author in the Klakotsky Archive in 2023.
