Bauhaus
Баухаус
First published in 1984, Frank Whitford's book (b. 1941) remains one of the best overviews of the history and achievements of the Bauhaus — the school of architecture and design established in the Weimar Republic in 1919. Fourteen years later, it was closed by the Nazis, but in its brief existence of less than a decade and a half, it managed to lay the foundations for the teaching of industrial arts disciplines for the entire following century.
